The 2 Band HMW just arrived and got posted. I bought them "blind" as the first batch of 24mm knots was simply outstanding. We'll see how this new, denser batch turns out.

Below is the previous batch 2 Band HMW in an Ironwood E7 handle. This one is truly amazing.

Very nice in horn...It looks great with the "lighter" dark band. I hope mine will look as good in MoonJava!

Thanks, Gents. The handle is phenomenal, like all the E7s Bob makes. I have high expectations regarding the knot and hope it will not turn out to be too dense and a "wall of badger hair". I raised the loft as much as meaningful.
It should arrive in the next few days - and then we will see.

As mentioned before the previous batch at 24/50mm is one of the best knots in collection of 2 bands.

German, I hope you don't mind if I show the one I have, also 26mm extra dense knot. Not trying to steal your thread but seemed silly to start another one.
The handle on mine is from Peter Wolf of Wolf Whiskers. Very nice workmanship and beautiful colors.
I was somewhat skeptical of this knot as it looked very dense out of the box and I was concerned it would be too stiff. Not to worry. I've only done one test lather with it but it bloomed nicely and is soft. I have the loft on mine set at 52mm for now but I used silicone adhesive so I can pull the knot if I decide I might want to alter it. I think this will turn out to be an excellent brush and its got me thinking of getting a three band HMW.

This looks great at 52mm with that handle. I am glad to hear the knot is not ueberdense...
Mine should arrive by tomorrow.
What is the knot size coming out of the handle?

I see you got the handle without a lip. Nice choice! I'm thinking along those lines for my next so it more closely resembles an Emperor/AS3M.

A 52mm loft should provide plenty of flex. For me, 50mm looks great on a 26mm 2-band knot, but is just at the border of being too firm. I plan on keeping the loft right there but dropping knot size to 24mm in 3-band, whether it be with HMW hair or something other.

I measured it at 27mm with my calipers. I used the brush for today's shave and I think the loft is where I want it. It gives me a bit of flex and enough backbone. I think I will like the knot, no flow thru problems, some scritch typical of what you expect from HMW hair but not prickly. Need to use it some more before making any comparisons to other brushes I have. I'll be interested in hearing your comments.

Brush has arrived. Knot measures 28/52mm with the E7 handle at 58mm.

The knot is different from the previous HMW 2 Band. Larger, of course, as the other one was at 24mm, but also more dense and less "treated", meaning definitely less bleached or no bleach at all (only Lee can tell).

The tips feel very soft when wet, but I still have to confirm that when face lathering tomorrow. The brush has good backbone and is fairly dense, but not ueber-dense. When wet, the tips clump a bit, which for me is a good sign re: softness.

The handle is stunning. More to be reported. Others chime in with the same knot. Some pics below.
