I picked up a 2013 r41 from a fellow member (thanks again!) and I'm going to give it a go tomorrow night, and I want you to pick the blade. I'm leaning towards the personna reds myself, as I find them to be simply the most forgiving blade i've used while still being moderately sharp. I'm curious to what others would suggest, just for fun. Notice how I left out the Feather just so you don't even get the options Tongue

I voted for the Lab; it's what I enjoy in my R41. Smooth and sharp without being too sharp.

Definitely go with the Red IP, a nice, middle of the road blade to test the waters with any new razor.

To be honest, I didn't check the thread before I shaved and started with a red IP and quickly took it out. I thought a non sharp blade would be best but the razor requires so little pressure and attention that the red IP wasn't sharp enough to cut easily - it was tugging. Switched to an already opened Polsilver SI to finish the shave which looks like it was the leading blade on the poll anyways. Celestino gave me a couple of the super iridums to try (thx!) and I figured I really wanted to use them in my weber to be able to compare them to the other blades rather than trying them in a new razor.

That being said, that was interesting. Last night I loaded a blade and ran it on the back of my hand and it didn't seem very scary but I think it was a different razor all together on a softer/less tough face skin. I got maybe 4 little weepers that went away with cold water splash which I've had worse during a sloppy rushed shave with a much more mild razor. I also came in under my nose at a very open angle and poked myself (one of the 4) which i've never done with another razor - I suppose because of the extra blade exposure. I was definitely reminded of the ol' r41 at certain times during the day as I noticed a hint of a raw feeling face. But what a close and effective shaver. I might use it for ATG touch ups under the chin where i struggle to get BBS as it seemed to do it with ease.

Yah definitely. I wasn't brave enough to put in a GSB though.
