I received a BIG sample of this great stuff on Friday and I was so anxious to give it a spin this morning. Here's my honest and unbiased opinion. (it's freezing!)

Ease of lathering: 8/10--Quite easy and you get a slick and rich lather.

Longevity of lather: 8/10--Good stability for a multi-pass shave.

General skincare: 7/10--Bone-chilling cold which begins immediately. Not the most skin-friendly soap, but good.

Scent: 9/10--Nice. Menthol and peppermint. I really like it a lot.

Price: 10/10--At Ernie's website it sells at around 4,00$ or so. Very, very affordable.

Would I buy again: 10/10--Being such a menthol lover, you better believe it!

This soap is a menthol lover's dream come true - it's exactly the same freezing-cold effect as you'd get from Stirling Glacial. It has nice, rich, slick lather - ok, not especially thick but still very workable, and the menthol effect is off the charts. It smells great also - my wife actually likes it. The only improvement needed perhaps, would be the moisturizing aspect. Otherwise this one HELL of a fabulous soap.

@Chris, if you enjoy menthol this soap is definitely a must-have. It's an official part of my insanely-big rotation.

@Celestino, I agree - at first the name kind of grossed me out a little! Smile

Agree with your review. Could have better skincare properties and better lather too, but the menthol blast is amazing. As a menthol lover its a must have in my den.

I think the lather is all right. Even the skincare is adequate, but I get better skincare from the Stirling Glacial. Both soaps have the same intense menthol blast - no difference in that aspect. Smile

The last fifteen times I checked their webpage over the last 4-5 months, it says they are out of everything. Good for them. I guess.

Based on the reviews I've read, I went to order one puck of each of the four soaps on their website. They were out of stock on each of them. That was over a month ago. I assume this is just a part-time hobby for them,so I signed up for their newsletter hoping to get the word when they're "back in business".

Just rec'd a tin from a friend. Whoa Nelly, this stuff is very strong. It will make your eyes water when applied. To me it produces a cooling sting. Makes great lather though and the shave was fine. Don't know if it's for me.
