I am intrigued by the number of videoclips showing men shaving their necks downward, with the grain (WTG). The hair on MY neck grows in the opposite direction, that us, up toward my chin. This means a first pass for me means shaving in a few different directions. Some folk are right handed, others are lefties. I am curious to know how many here have hair that grows down their neck, and how many (like me) have hair that grows up toward their chin. Well, not how many, but what a ratio might look like.

Neither, it's horizontal outwards from the center on each side.

So, you 'part' your neck hair? Smile

This is one of the topics that receives some attention because the neck area can be problematic for many. To answer your question, the hair on my neck grows downward above the adam's apple and more horizontal on each side but with a definite upward tilt. Some members will use a cotton ball and brush that across the hairs on their neck when they have not shaved for one to two days. This mapping can be a very effective way to determine the direction of hair growth.

I can't vote but I don't think they'd even allow you enough poll slots to cover the directions of growth anyways...

I'm with Ravi and Johnny in terms of general growth, so I voted "down." I get some other directional growth going on moving back towards the ears, however.

I am the same so I did not vote. It is the main reason I gave up on straights, I could never find a away to ATG on my neck. It is possible with a DE.

I'm more like Celestino, it grows in every direction. Fortunately, my beard if fairly light and it doesn't pose too great of a problem.

I should have created a separate category: "All over the shop". Perhaps with these multi-directional growth chaps, the Slant finds favour? Just a thought

Me too, my friend. Due to this, I must be very careful if I don't want to arrive at my office like a Freddy Krueger´s victim.
