Looking to try a Bay Rum A/S that is subtle from the get go but has a bit of linger to it. I'm not looking for cologne type staying power but not a splash and gone either. Over the years I steered away from the Bay's simply because of the bite when initially applied. I've wanted to like them but just haven't committed. Recommendations appreciated.

The only subtle one I've tried is Masters.

And you liked it? Still use it?

Our very own ShadowsDad makes an excellent Bay Rum. Best I've ever used.

Thank you. Does it seem to be a bit understated with a little staying power?

Well, it won't set your face on fire, has excellent conditioners in it, and if I put it on in the morning I can still tell it's there in the afternoon.

I did, and I do. I quite liked Captain's Choice as well, but it is not subtle, and just lasted a couple of hours.

Krampert's Finest! Just look in the A/S forum for at least a couple threads on it.

I have some Stephen's Bay Rum. I don't notice the scent after an hour or so, but I've been told I smell good for up to 5 hours afterwards. You can get it up in SLC at Ray's Barbershop usually.

I like Master's myself, but I've never found a BR I thought lingered very much. Some BR's do somewhat linger by using the clove scent to draw it out, but I'm not a big clove fan.

I like the Captains. But I can't say it's subtle.

I've tried about a dozen or so. My daily driver is Dominica. Lasts for a while. Special occasion is Meehan's. Lasts most of the day for me. Both have a good burn to them.
