I know these Astra SP blades have been mentioned on here before but I had never used them until today. Five blades were included in a package of soap I received so I thought what the heck, I will try one. Boy, was I surprised. Sharp and smooth. One of the best shaves I've had. I may have to add some of these to my next order.

Any Astra SP users out there? You know, the ones that this is your blade of choice.

I used one recently and was surprised how decent they were, sharp and smooth. I will be using them again no doubt. I've got a couple of hundred in stock.

I use them in a triple rotation along with Polsilver SI and Gillette Silver Blues..for me they're good for 3 great shaves and for $8 per 100..the price can't be beat.

They are the first blades I bought when I started back into using DEs and liked them enough not to bother trying others. Until I got a good deal recently on a couple 5 packs of Israeli made blades that were good too. Got lucky I guess with the Astras first crack but they are smooth and sharp enough for me.

The Astra SP and Gillette Silver Blue are my go to blades. I like the Silver Blue in my aggressive razors, and the Astra in my milder razors. The Astra SP is a bargain....

The Astra SP isn't my all time favorite but it's up there. I consider it the best value blade there is and my "daily driver". As mentioned above they can be bought for as cheap as $8 per 100. I have approximately 400 right now. If you don't mind the wait I think bestshave.net is the cheapest. You can also include a box of 100 for around $10 as an add on order on Amazon. I always include a box when making an Amazon purchase.

They are a good blade. I haven't used them in over 2 years since finding the Super Iridiums, but they were good for 3 shaves, maximum, for me when I did use them and they are extremely economical, to boot!

maveraeuropeemail on eBay has them, 900 for approx. $120 US. That's about 13.4 cents per blade. But 900? Wow. Last forever, 900 blades...at 4 shaves per blade, that's what, about ten years' worth of shaving? Smile 3.35 cents per day.

I like them too. Used one this morning and got a very close shave. They're good for about three shaves. Not my favorite blade but they do work well.

When I first started DE shaving a few months ago I started with a sampler pack of blades.

After trying several less popular blades first including Derbys I tried the Astra SP and found them very smooth and sharp. They have become my go to blade.

BUT I do have some Personna Labs, Med Preps and super iridiums on the way so things may change Smile

I agree with what's said above. Astra SPs have been my favorite blade for the better part of a year. They work better for me than the revered Feathers, although I recently tried a Gillette Silver Blue with my 1948 Aristocrat, and the combo gave me one of the best shaves I've ever had.

I have them as my go to blade of choice. I also use the rapira.
Not as keen on voskhod or the polsilvers.
But each to there own.
