Ok so I finally found a couple of Long combs and they will be here next week by the pix that the seller posted on the bay the finish is a little rough but they were both what I was looking for because I have a plan.....90+ year old razors need a new life....especially when their 1st go round left them in rough shape....to be continued.......Cool

Congrats on picking these razors up. They're really excellent razors (though they won't work for everyone). Smooth, efficient and full of history.

I also find them to be pretty to look at.

Keep us posted.

The way I'm looking at them is like this, if they are anything like or near to shaving like my SC 101 I will like them, plus I plan on making them sexy!!

UPDATE: so I received my 2 antique Gillette razors today one is an obvious long comb, the other is a bit of a "Frankenrazor" shorter comb with a ball end handle both in fairly good condition except the plating (non-issue to me) when I am done with the "restore" I will post PIX!

I third the sentiments of pics being added. I'm curious as to what your frankenrazor looks like.

Those razors have a sort of pink brass that looks good even when the plating is shot.

So what you have there is a New Short Comb that someone coated. Is it powder coat? or seem like plating? Good razor, right there with the long comb, if the coating hasn't ruined it. Good luck with it

The coating is a firearms coating and NO it did not ruin the razor! The plating was completely ruined before I coated it YES I coated the razors I have 3 that have had the same treatment and all three were blasted with Aluminum Oxide media to give the coating something to "hold" on to then they were baked YES baked at 150 degrees Fahrenheit for one hour. the coating is very very hard and it actually improved the shave of all three...
