I admit this is one of my pet peeves. It drives me nuts when someone "replies" to the initial post that started a thread, instead of using the Quick Reply feature, especially when the initial post contains a lot of large images. Doing that kind of reply QUOTES the whole first post, including all the images. That kind of reply forces me to scroll down through the whole long thing, with a complete repeat of the initial post, just to finally see some simple sentence like "I'll take the razors." So you guys who are doing that: please STOP it. Just use the Quick Reply at the bottom of the thread - PLEASE.

I actually like the "quote" function as Tapatalk then notifies me that a member has replied to the post...

Have to agree John. To me it shows no consideration for fellow members to clutter up the thread. Better form is to quote only that part of the post you are actually responding to, not the entire thing ... and generally not the photos.

If you want to see who responded subscribe to the thread.

Good point. Generally, when I want to quote a previous post, I "cut and paste" the specific portion of the quote on which I want to quote and then use the Quick Reply. Sure saves time and space.Biggrin

I fully agree, this kind of reply drives me nuts. Especially in the SOTD where there is pictures I like to quickly look at. Then you have to look at them five more times. I am so glad you help me vent. Stop it please. I only did it to illustrate, there might have been someone who did not get it. If I am going to use a quote, I only use the sentence I am going to spin on.

Sometimes when a thread gets long, a reply to the OP makes sense so that people know what you are actually replying to. That said, I have seen far to many #2 posts in a thread which quotes the first post. Seems rather pointless at that point IMO. For those of us who do a lot of mobile browsing, this can be frustrating.
