I was staring at my soaps today and realized that I have not used my MWF in weeks. This is probably the soap I would recommend to a friend if they asked me what soap to try first. I have always and still do love MWF. I love the ceramic dish, the scent and the performance is always top notch.

Unfortunately, I always pass on it for something else. I'd much rather reach for some of my Artisan soaps than MWF these days but if I was told I was going to a desert island, the MWF might be the one coming with me.

I can't reconcile this in my head. Anyone else have a similar soap, cream, brush, razor, etc. that you love but ignore?

MDC created a different issue for me. Had it, loved it and used it every other shave. Then, for some reason, I traded it? Huh

There are so many really good soaps available today, that one doesn't have to choose on performance alone. MWF is in a class all it's own, but if I can get a great shave from another product with a scent that I particularly like, I'll choose that soap 9 times out of 10 over MWF. My rotation is mostly between Strop Shoppe, Mike's, JabonMan, and Mystic Water. MdC, LPL, PannaCrema, and Boellis Panama sit untouched much of the time because their scents just can't compete with the others, and they all produce a quality lather. I can also get a great shave and experience a wonderful scent from Synergy, PPF, LASS and others, so why choose soaps that produce a great lather, but have a mediocre scent, on a regular basis?

Well, yes and no.

I'm trying to whittle down the soaps and creams in my cabinet so I'm using a rotation of 5 of them every day except Sunday when I have the option to choose from the entire cabinet.

So yes, they get ignored, except on Sunday. The odd part is that the soaps and creams I'm using up are so good that lots of Sundays I just stay with the next of the 5 whose turn it is.

* synthetic brushes
* open-comb DEs
* only using one soap, now, really, so soaps aren't an issue
* will update if I think of anything else Biggrin

Interesting-I thought about my MWF last week, sitting cold and alone in it's cream-colored fortress of solitude. Then I took the trusty Omega 48 to it, and , agh, The Fat Rises to the challenge!

Bottom line-we have a lot of options, but I come back to it and MdC every week.

My last stick of Arko. Haven't opened it as it's one of my favourites and I'm trying to reduce my collection of creams and soaps.

I still take it out to smell, but I'm saving it for the last dance.

My vintage Floris shaving soap, it lathers up so beautifully, but there is just so many other soaps and creams calling out for attention. At the price I paid for it I usually talk myself into using something cheaper and it just sits neglected.
