Just got it in the post today and when the seller said it was big they were right its as thick as my CH2 and taller. After a bit of investigation I found I had a Vintage Butterscotch Simpsons S9 in Super (you can make out the original stamps on the handle). Ok the Super has lost a bit of loft........Confused.......but for $20.00 it is worth getting re-knotted.
Pic on Mac is one in good order to give you an idea of how big this thing is, the razor you can see in the background is a Pils.

Wow! I did see that on line and thought about it. $20? Absolute bargain! Can't wait to see it if you get it re-knotted! If you do, will you try to get a similar loft to the original?

I try to keep as close to the original as possible but I will take advice from the person doing the work. As for the price thank goodness for poor advertising.....Angel

Nice brush, and it sounds like you got a wonderful deal. I would guess that rather than 'S9' the printing may say '59.' It certainly looks like a 50 series brush handle.

Nope it is definitely an "S9" I will try to take a close up tomorrow. There are flat tails on the "S" and it has curved top and bottoms. So not a 5. Also the brush behind it is an S9 taken off B&B.

Dear missingchin,

Knowing how Limeys enjoy that provenance thing, I hope for your sake the brush was owned by Julia Child.
