Opal #12 black brush (my wicked skyrocket)

Friends, here I introduce another beauty in my shaving arsenal. Some months ago I bought this brush, new in box. Came from Taylor, Michigan, United States to Barcelona, Spain, and after some weeks restoring it, finally the job is done! It resembles a wicked skyrocket with its shape and color. Even more with the new knot. Nice weight, 70 gr.

The brush was new in box, but the old knot was shedding bristles, was dry and it was not very nice on the face. I used it a couple times and did not like. Then, decision was clear. It would have a new knot, a nice Finest Badger. I think really this brush is better and more beautiful now, with this dark knot. And you know I use my brushes, then a nice user experience was needed. Restoration was mandatory.

Here you can see vendor pics

Here you can see at the right of the pic, at the start of restoring process, cutting the old knot and filling the handle.

Specs

Handle Height 54.5 mm
Diameters from top to bottom, 35-30-37 mm
It was partially hollow (bottom filled with plaster of Paris), and now it is filled with polypropilene granules and epoxy in the upper part.

Knot
Original knot was boar faux badger 23x55 mm
Now, it has a Finest Badger knot 23.5 x 50.5 mm FAN extra dense (really it is a 20 mm knot, but you can see it is very dense)

Total height of the brush 105 mm
Total weight 70 gr.

Super nice brush! Really does look like a rocket? Are you selling these revamps or is your collection really that big? Smile

What a huge collection! btw - there is a seller on ebay who sells glass topped boxes used for pens or brushes. I think we paid $36.00 each but it is a great way to display brushes and store them.

I'll find the seller again, if you are interested. Just let me know Smile

I do not sell any brushes, friend. Are for my own enjoyment!
