After much emailing, I now see my package is ‘manifested for departure’. After, ummm, 18 days? This also means it is still in the USA, and there may therefore be a further delay through Australian customs prior to delivery to my Sydney address. That’s ‘expedited shipping’? Yikes! At least my parcel has been found.

I'm not sure that I understand how the U.S. postal system works. I shipped a tub of Valobra soap to Russia recently and it was returned to me as a potentially dangerous or prohibited good. Really? It wasn't even Arko.

Seems USPS gets tagged for things that might not be their fault .. Phil's picture says the Air Carrier, not USPS,  rejected the shipment, and I wonder why we think that USPS should warrant delivery once it leaves their hands?   I've shipped strops to Brisbane, Floid Blue to Pittsburgh, a Fat Boy to Norway, etc., but always it was understood that these things take time.

In my case, I blame no-one, except the GSP (as a system) which is notoriously expensive, slow, and has poor, and even nonsensical tracking. Yes, things take time of course, but to take 18 days before even leaving the US? Yeah, nah. Unacceptable.

Yea, it’s hard to tell who exactly rejected the package. I have a back channel number to USPS for businesses and, they are investigating. I hope to have an answer in a couple of days.

In a happier update, USPS informs me that: "Your item departed a transfer airport in INTERNATIONAL, LOS ANGELES, UNITED STATES on November 25, 2019 at 2:15 pm."

The Norwegian Postal Service on the other hand only shows arrival at LA airport, three days ago...

Day 19. Still there in the USA.

If this is what "expedited shipping" is, well, I'll eat my ten-gallon hat.

It isn't necessarily better in reverse either. Here is the tracking journey for an order I have coming from Spain.

My package arrived today. Funnily enough, both the USPS and the Norwegian Postal Service shows no change since before the weekend....  Huh

Someone forgot to update the shipping status. It's not that unusual, Hans.

I could have understood that if it came to my mailbox - but in this case my Better Half was kind enough to pick it up at the post office and sign for it.
