I have Irisch Moos deodorant and really love it. I like green and earthy scents like fougere and vetiver. I was thinking of buying the aftershave or cologne.

Is the scent exactly like the deodorant? Is it too strong? What are your opinions and descriptions of the scent. Is it a good buy? I like fresh and green and bracing scents and do not like the overly sweet.

As usual, YMMV. To me the scent of the deodorant is very similar to the stick, but the splash is quite different (haven't tried the balm yet). I much prefer the scent of the stick/deodorant.

I recently purchased the shaving cream and the EDT. The shaving cream smells of earth and moss. The EDT is a simple and linear bright fern, smells like the 70's.

Thank you for that. I think I might have to try it, then.

Robert, the EDT fragrance is very simple. I will end up giving away my bottle when I list a brush on BST. There are better alternatives if you want a clean bracing fragrance whether it is citrus or fougere. I have some vintage NOS paco rabanne pour home aftershave (1984-1992) arriving shortly and will update you accordingly. In the meantime, hold off on that buy button Wink

I picked up the Paco Rabanne pour Homme aftershave today. It's much better than I expected and takes me back to the early 80's when I first tried the EDT. It's a beautifully complex fougere with an intoxicating oak moss note.

The bottle (and packaging) is in immaculate condition:

Was this an ebay or bst buy? I would interested in buying vintage Paco Rabanne Poure Homme if I can find it and if the price isn't exorbitant.

I ordered the PR aftershave from the same seller today. It took him a while to make a counteroffer and for me to offer back. How long did it take to arrive?

I also ordered samples (1.5 ml) of the "original" fougere perfume,
Houbigant Paris FOUGERE ROYALE Eau De Parfum. I hope it's not too sweet for me, but most scented products AS, colognes, etc. can start fresh and green and sharp and dry down to sweet.

I love the inexpensive Alpa Fougere cologne. It starts out sharp, but mellows quickly.

I've heard the scent described as something similar to Irish Spring bar soap. Is there any truth to that?

Not to my nose. I'm not good at describing scents and I haven't used Irish Spring soap in a few decades, but Alpa doesn't smell like it. I just wished it lasted longer and didn't finish sweet.

I'm beginning to think a clean and green , lasting, non-sweet fougere scent doesn't exist on the market. I'll see if the Paco Rabanne fits the bill.

I see. It sounds pretty good to me then. It seems a bit difficult to acquire at the moment however.

I received the Paco Rabanne pour Homme yesterday and splashed it on as a body cologne, though it's an aftershave. The scent is terrific and just what I imagined a fougere should be like.
