This weekend I recieved the R 41 head that was ordered thru Connaught. Very nice quality BTW. I have been interested in this razor because of the feedback on its aggressiveness. Connaught says its a 2013 model too.

First impressions...paired it with a Weber handle, prepped and lathered up, used a new blade and went to work. It is very similar to the New and New Deluxe in its aggressivesness, but not similar to the Plisson OC I have. So if the pre-2013 models were different, then those would be some serious shaving tools!

Excellent shave !

I find I can use it for a few days only then need to give it a rest. Yes, very close shave indeed. I quite like it with the handle it came with. I found no need to make it a heftier razor, but everyone has their preferences. Glad you like the R41.

The 13' R41 head is one of the best for close comfortable shaves. I have two paired with different handles both in the lightweight area. The Joris is equal to the 2011' head IMHO.
Congrats.

I purchased a Grande R41 - Been using it for two weeks now exclusively. I love it, it has become my go to razor.

Congrats on the R41. I have the 2011 model but don't use it a whole lot. It gives me a very close shave, and nothing uncomfortable, but it's almost too much razor for me because I usually shave every day. I usually stick with my Fatboy, or Merkur HD, but if I don't shave all weekend the R41 has no problem mowing down a couple days growth with ease.
