The Semogue Horn Handle 2 Band arrived today. I got a Size 2 (50mm) handle which is just the right size. By my measures the knot is 24/51mm.

Palm lathering reveals a brush of medium density, great flow, nice back bone and - surprisingly - soft tips! Will have to confirm this while face lathering in the morning.

Below pre- and post bloom pics. One next to a D3 in 2 Band for size comparison.

So far looks like a great brush!

Beautiful series of brushes ... my preference is the size 2 in terms of proportions.

After seeing the pictures I am so happy I ordered the size 1! Now if I can just convince customs to release my package I could get to lathering... Dodgy

I got a size 3 (I already had a size 2 in Selected Silvertip), and absolutely love the brush.
I know I've said this before, but these recent premium batches of Semogue's badger hair... Are simply fantastic!

Wow, those look amazing! It's hard for me to tell with 2-D pics, but is the handle on the 1 wider than the others?

Yeah, Due to payday being later than the release date, I got the very last brush of this batch that was sold. It was size 1 which I felt was probably the best bet but I wanted a 2 so it would match my Select Silvertip Horn...I'm just excited to receive it Smile

Used the brush this morning with Cade soap.

This is an excellent knot! Individual hairs are thicker than Simpson 2 Band and a bit more resilient. Face feel is definitely softer than most 2 bands - about in line with Simpson and Thäter - definitely softer than Simpson Manchurian (interested in Ben's observations when he gets to compare them).

The knot opens up nicely, possesses great flow and makes lather easy. The fan shape allows for broad application to the face.

The handle is very ergonomic. Still not the most sophisticated handle design. The horn gives it a nice touch, but requires more care than a resin handle.

I am very impressed. A high-end 2 Band knot for a medium price!!

Well done, Semogue!!! Biggrin
