There are 3 versions of the GEM MicroMatic which started on the scene with the Open Comb around 1929. After the Open Comb came the solid guard bar named the Clog Pruf. Finally, the Flying Wing was the last style of MicroMatic to be produced. Each later version seemed to bring a milder shaving experience.

So, which is your favorite and why?

I like the OCMM for the more aggressive and efficient shave.

I have two Bullet-tips and one Featherweight. I've never got around to using trying the Featherweight.

I prefered the OCMM over the other two when I tried them and the look is just wonderful, but, unfortunately, I have never gotten on well with it. Blush

Yep, OCMM for me for the most efficient shave of the three.

I have a clog pruf that I have used once that u didn't love it but was probably technique that would get better over time. I got a pristine OCMM in the mail the other day for $8 I'm really excited to use!

My vote goes for the clog pruf but it was a tough call with the flying wing.
I never liked the OCMM, i might as well use a straight razor.

The flying wing is great, but i like the ER 1914 better when i feel like an aggressive razor.

The clog pruf fills the mild niche perfectly because while it is forgiving, it is still very efficient, much more so than say the G bar or the Featherweight.

It's really a toss up for me between the Clog Pruf and Flying Wing. Both work very well for me with the Clog Pruf being just a tad more aggressive. But the difference is tiny. Like them both.

I have tried the OCMM but didnt seem to get on well with it, (That said I was new to SE's at the time and I dont feel I gave it a fair chance.)
I like my Clog Pruf NOS in brass sweet shaver a bit harsh for every day unless I do cold water shaving then thats fine.
I just got a flying wing this week seems closer to my OCMM than my G bar, but still too early for me to give an honest opinion on it.
So for now its the CP (I will get another OCMM at some point)

I find the Clog Pruf can provide a very close shave, but the Flying Wing is super smooth. A toss up.

eric.

I voted for the Flying Wing. Since I considered the Clog Pruf and Flying Wing a toss up, I voted for the one with the least votes so far.

Wow, I was thinking the the OCMM would run away with this. All the Flying Wing love is going to make me complete my MicroMatic family.

Brian the Flying Wing has a lot going for it. It's a very sophisticated feeling razor.

I've never been a fan of it aesthetically and always thought it would be too mild. My recent success with the 1914 are making me want to give milder razors a go.

Why didn't you put "None of the Above" as a choice? Wink

The ocmm is the highlight of the micromatic family. Efficient, forgiving and smooth!

OCMM; Very close shave. I shaved WTG when I got it to get used to it.

I have them all and really like them all.
I almost never use the Clog-Pruf, simply because the shave is almost identical to the Flying Wing, which I like a bit better.

The choice between Flying Wing and OCMM is a day to day thing. Smooth and easy vs. very close but a tad harsh. I definitely use the OCMM more often but I thoroughly enjoy the Flying Wing every time I use it.
