Checking in with all of you on 3P-what's your take on this soap? My first few drives with Cella are great, and I'm wondering if 3P is a good choice to try. Thanks for your input

It's a great soap. Similar to Cella in most regards. I find the scent a little more "soapy" than Cella.

I agree with this statement. I traded my 3p off and kept my Cella.

Well, it all depends on what you have for Cella. I bought a block of it maybe 2 years ago (Cella) and I suspect it had just come from the factory. It was an absolutely disgusting scent, an extremely strong and synthetic cherry stink. It was so bad I almost couldn't use it. I allowed it to age for a time and in a few months it had gotten better. The cherry scent was still there just not as disgustingly strong. Now maybe 2 years later the scent is fine, but the soap is turning brown. That doesn't affect the performance though from what I'm seeing during the shave.

3P is almond, and a very nice soap. Especially when the price is factored in, it's a top performer. It's not as good as some of the other "price be damned" almond croaps, but it's very good. I would place the performance of 3P above Cella.

Thanks Brian-Found your review too, and that helps. My Cella is mild scent wise. I had never tried P 160 so I compare to my favorites-MWF, Tabac and MdC. The mositurizing effect from these 3 is very good for me. Brought in some LA Shaving Soap (very good first impression), and some Pannacrema (haven't tried it yet). One thing I do know is that creams don't do it for me, so I'm using some as pre-shave.

RazoRock Inauguration (from Stats) and San Valentino are excellent scent wise and very good in all other departments. But I'm looking for the uber-moisturizing like you

3P, to me, has a more 'adult' version of the Almond scent. Cella is very 'candy-almond-smelling'. Both soaps lathers VERY well.

RazoRock R160 is quite good also. Very much like the discontinued P160. I could tell you more, but I don't know if I can.

I also heard a rumor, I don't know where, probably here though, that P160 might be making a comeback.

I believe Joe has confirmed that a RazoRock rebranded but actual P.160 is in the works.

Some posts suggest Fitness/Figaro are made by the same company as P 160-have you guys tried these? They look like the same tubs RazoRock comes in. Saw them on the Connaught website

I believe RazoRock Classic is the same stuff as Fitness/Figaro. I believe P160 was made by an artisan that retired, hence the discontinuation.

For me, as good as Cella, Valobra, P160. Wonderful lather, attractive scent, great shaves. I especially like it for face lathering with my Barbear Classico brushes. The 3P teamed with these smaller, fairly stiff backboned knots is most comfortable and fun to use.
