I started using Pinaud Clubman AS. It has a nice talc like finish and a very traditional barbershop smell. It's nicely masculine, and inexpensive. Does anyone else use this?

I bought a bottle a few years back when I got into wet shaving and instantly recognized it as the scent of the barbershop of my youth. I love it, and always keep a bottle handy. I also paired it up with some Clubman Talc to get the full barbershop effect.

Yep, I use it, and I also use Citrus Musk, Special Reserve and their Bay Rum. Pinaud has a great line up overall.

I guess I need to try some of this. For the life of me I cannot remember what my barber use to use way back when. It might have been Clubman but I just don't remember.

Just about everybody I suspect. Truly classic stuff.

I recently got my first bottle. I like it a lot, but have to be careful not to over-apply.

I guess the other question is: How do you pronounce Pinaud? I have Latin, Greek, German and Russian but no French. Is it Pin-ooo (as in loose) or is it Pin-o (as in old)?

I smelled this a long time ago and remember not liking it. But in this thread it's being compared to Clubman Talc. I use Clubman Talc every day and love it. So do they actually smell similar?

I like the Clubman and have a big bottle of it that I get into every couple or three weeks, but SWMBO doesn't really like it as well as a lot of my other scents, maybe because she doesn't have the barbershop memories....

I'll have to try that one. I love the smell of vanilla. Is it pretty close to what we usually think of as vanilla (e.g., vanilla candles)?

I love the Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve. I find it very complex, which is unusual for an inexpensive product like this. To me there are hints of pepper, rose, and other scents that I cannot quite make out. Overall, a real favorite. Smile
