I just noticed the good Captain has a new aftershave - North:

Quote:Captain's Choice North Aftershave smells just like a trip through the northern woods. It has a full-bodied evergreen scent with top notes of juniper and hints of clove and vanilla. North will keep you smelling ruggedly fresh - splash some on right after your shave and enjoy the aroma of what one reviewer called, "islandy pine." After the dry down your skin will feel nourished and moisturized all day. The light juniper scent is a great addition to your daily grooming regimen and complements perfectly your favorite cologne.

Anyone try it yet?

I've come close to pulling the trigger as their bay rum is one of my go to's. But I was hoping to get some other people's thoughts on it before I buy.

I just ordered a few products from the captain. I the new aftershave North. Wow it is another quality A/S. The scent is fresh with some pine, not overpowering. The skin effect is where the Captain shines. My faces feels amazing for at least half the day. If your on the fence, here's a nudge. It's worth it

I have it and for me it's similar to the Captain's choice bay rum but perhaps has more of a pine smell to it. Chances are if you like the Bay Rum you'll like North also.

I agree with the last post. Most Bay Rums are too much for me and a bit overwhelming with scent. I find the North to be a nice balance.

Performance is top notch - in line with the other CC aftershaves. Recommended.

Bay Rum is also a bit intense for me - but it gets the occasional use.

I have a bottle of North on the way. Can't wait!

I have it. It has a tad more burn than the CC Lime I have. It's a tiny bit like bay rum smell wise, but not nearly as sweet (for the record I've never liked anyone's Bay Rum so YMMV). I get mostly pine and cloves (more cloves than pine). This scent is nice and I am glad I purchase it.

It is a great aftershave. The Bay Rum is a bit intense for me but the North hits the spot. Feels and smells great

I agree. If Bay Rum is a little stout for you North really hits the spot.

I happen to love Captain's Bay Rum, but I seem to go through this stuff so fast. Anyone else have that problem? I think I need a gallon of this stuff.

Yeah. I've only used North 3 or so times and I can see a noticeable difference in the bottle.

The Captain was good enough to include a sample of North (and his Bay Rum) after I won a drawing for his Lime.
When I smelled it, my immediate impression was "Gin!" The juniper clearly stood out for me.

I was using other products on hand but finally got around to using North this morning.
As various others have noted, the face feel is great -- and the scent is not one-note.

I've tried all the Captain's Choice scents and they are all very nice. My list topper is Cat-O-Nine-Tails. I really wish it was offered in 8oz or larger bottles, because I'm crazy about it. North is really wonderful too - pine and juniper with the lovely smell of the north woods. I also like the Sandalwood a lot. I will try to always have a full bottle of CO9T in reserve - don't want to risk running out!
