I've been hearing about scuttles and decided to give one a try. I ordered a G12 second from Georgetown Pottery. It was $20 less than new. This scuttle is drop dead gorgeous! I had to search to find one tiny imperfection.

On to the scuttle...
I soaked my scuttle in hot water while I showered and refilled it with fresh hot water when I got out. The bowl was great for whipping up lather and the scuttle made the lather warm. Only one problem... it ends up I don't like warm lather!

It was worth a try.

Picture please. Also, sorry to hear about the investment with not so good results. I recommend you give the scuttle a chance. Otherwise, they are easy to move on BST.

Try it with cold water in the scuttle. It'll keep your lather nice and cool.

That is a bummer but you wouldn't know until you try! At least you didn't pay full price!

I would recommend the g12 as a scuttle and you can't beat the price.

No harm in trying and hopefully you can still use it with cooler or lukewarm water. Best of luck. Smile

A hot or warm lather shave will give you the best shave as it keeps the pores open.

$20 thats dang cheap compared to the ones I was looking at on their website. I'm wanting to say it was some like $50. Of course there is a good chance that I'm wrong. I've been shopping around for a couple of weeks for the best deal.

It was $30. The price is reduced by $20 because is is a second.
