I just ordered the 88 and the Oxford & Cambridge soaps in the cheap wooden bowls from Phil Blush

I just felt 2 x $160 was too much to pay for two aluminun pots Blush

Hope they will perform just as fine in the wooden MWF bowls as they would have done in the alu pots Tongue

Will these two soaps outperform my 4 newly puchased DR Harris soaps in the mahogany bowls or my 3 MDC ?

Those bowls are fine, don't look that cheap. Performance is great in either one though Wink

Claus, those original bowls are not just aluminum, they are anodized aluminum and they are heavy! Best bowls I have ever seen or held. I can't see them breaking in a lifetime as they are incredibly sturdy and well made. I am really glad I got the 88 Black one. Smile
Enjoy the soap.

Claus, in my experience, any Valobra product is miles ahead of DRH. YMMV. But to me, not even a discussion.

As for MdC, I will be selling mine (all 3 glass pots, 200g) because I am one of the unfortunate few whose skin gets irritated. So expect to see those on BST once I'm allowed, in April.
Come to think of it, I will be selling all 3 of my DRH in mohagany bowls (99% unused) then too!

Claus, the soaps are great, but the anodised bowls are AMAZING!

However, you make lather with the soap and not it's container, so they are definitely an unnecessary extravagance.

I think I am about to break down and order the soap and nice bowl. I placed a small order with Phil yesterday and should have ordered it then but I imagine he'll take another order.

In my experience:

1. C & S
2. DRH = MdC

The anodized bowls appear to be really fine. However, its the "lather on the face" that truly counts in my den. Wink
