I just received a RazoRock SLAB (Shave Like a Boss) from The Italian Barber. I was really looking for a good handle to pair with my Muhle R41 when I stumbled on to the SLAB. The SLAB has a nicely weighted handled with good knurling, similar to a Bulldog.

When I opened it yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised by the overall fit and finish and quality of the entire razor. I used it last night as follows:

Prep - Hot Shower, RazoRock Pre-Shave
Lather - AOS lemon
Razor - SLAB with a new Feather

The SLAB paired with a Feather was excellent. I could literally hear the whiskers being sheared away. I like a razor that gives me some sound! I had a 48 hour growth and on two passes, a DFS very close to a BBS. This razor worked as well if not better than my Muhle R41. It is the best $40 I spent on a DE - Aggressive but smooth, weighted handle, well balanced, an overall superb razor.

It will definitely be in my rotation.

This is a fantastic Razor. I bought it, much like you, figuring the price was worth it for the handle alone but I too was surprised. Its a great razor. It has a slot in my regular rotation as well. I use it with Feathers, Med Preps or Labs and it performs equally as good with all 3.
If I have a 2 or more day growth this is the razor I reach for out of all my non adjustable razors. I like how its more aggressive than the DE89 but not as aggressive as the Muhle R41. It is a fine razor to be sure.

Congrats on your purchase! I too love my SLAB. It is the only safety bar in my current rotation. I shaved with it this morning after neglecting it for 2-3 weeks and I was almost surprised how loud this razor shaves. I agree with WSO on blade choice, Meds or Labs are a fine pairing for me.

I got the slab for a good deal off of ebay and then got the r41 head from shaving.ie. Two fantastic razors for about sixty dollars.

The SLAB is close to my favourite razor. I get a great shave every time I use it.

Very curious about this razor... would anyone be able to compare its aggressiveness to a NY Shaving Company Mariner or a Matador Toro Mastiff?
