Received my $10 (incl. shipping) Deluxe Trac II today and wow, it's in such a great condition I'll almost feel bad about using it as it appears to be completely unused...but...I will Smile

The razor itself is beautiful and I thought it was going to be much lighter than it was due to most of the body being in plastic - but that metal upper part must be adding some weight to it 'cus it has a nice, solid weight/feel to it.

Case is beautiful both on the outside:

..as well as on the inside:

The razor even came with some plastic cap that I assume you put on it when there is no actual cartridge in it:

It also came with five cartridges and a manual that appears never been opened before:

So, even though it's in mintish condition...I must admit I'll use it to shave with. It can't possibly be too rare/valuable for $10 so I'm sure there are plenty of them floating around out there.

Question though - I can see a date code of 'U4' on it so if the same Gillette dating code applies to the Tracs that would make this a 1974, 4th quarter?

I can almost smell the flared jeans, discoballs and tobacco alternatives Smile

That's a really nice looking set!

By my reckoning, that date code would be 4th quarter of 1975.

That's certainly the time period these things were being offered. The Deluxe is a nice presentation model that deservedly goes for a higher price than the usual Trac, but online prices are usually way overblown. Yours is a screaming good deal for a mint version. Well done.

Thanks, the guy listed it as "Vintage Razor" with no other details.

Sounds as if he didn't know what he had. How come I never find sellers like that? Biggrin

Well, actually I did (responding to my own post above). Not nearly for the steal noted above, but at a "decent" price. The gold-tone doesn't shave any better than the chromed, it just looks like it does.
