Derby blades have two camps of shavers, those that use them with good results, those that detest them.

This morning I used a Derby in a SS. The shave was comfortable and irritation free. I had an exceptional DFS.
I had not used a Derby blade in a while, definitely will keep them in blade rotation.

I said I liked them but I actually very rarely use them. I certainly don't dislike them.

I tried them on a Futur and on a Tech. Don't like them in both... In the meanwhile I received a pack with the horizontal logo and also bought an Edwin Jagger DE89BA11. Will also try them with this machine.

They are not my blade of choice but I do not dislike them. They work fine for me but others work better.

I like them. Of course I like Dorco's, Beg Bens and Walmart Wilkies too. So you have to take that into account also Biggrin

I really like derby blades. They are not the best blades out-there, but they are certainly nice and smooth for me, and deliver a nice shave. So, I voted "I like them and use them" Smile

I've tried derby a few time, there not for me I get a lot of tugging and pulling which ends up causing a ton of bumps and acne. PIF'ed em all after I tried it twice with two different blades

Derby's make me feel like I'm just rubbing sandpaper on my face. Horrible for me.

Gentlemen,
For me, Derby blades are a plus and a minus: they have a few more individual duds among them than do the other blades I use. Still, I like them, especially in some of my razors. The price is right, too.

They worked well for me in a EJ89, but don't work for me with the 2010 Muhle r101 open comb and just so so in my Futur. I have a few hundred that I'll keep around until I find a good shaver for them, since I no longer use the EJ.

I used to use them often and I liked them. I now rarely use them as I have several others in my rotation that I like better.

if you happen to currently own a weber they work well in them. I'm currently traveling, well home for summer, and all I brought was my weber. I usually switch between astra's and med preps with that one but a new box of derby's came today so I had to just try them out.

I can't seem to use them in any razor without getting multiple weepers.
I've never had this problem with any other blade in any razor so I don't think it's my technique.

I've tried both the horizontal and vertical logo packages if that makes any difference.
I PIF'ed them to my daughters boyfriend and he just loves them. He doesn't experience any difference in the vertical or horizontal logo packs at all.

I like the Derby's. That's a blade that works very well on my Merkur 34c HD.

Nothing wrong with Derby and never any changes to them. All a board myth. Or maybe I should say more accurate "All Aboard The Myth" Seen it many times with products.
