After a month with an EJ, I got a Gillette Super Speed I've dated to 1949 or 1950 (no code). Using the Shark Stainless blade I've been nick-free on the EJ with for a while, I drew a little blood from the chin and corners of my mouth on first shave with the SS. Funny though, my neck where I'd been getting irritation is smooth and comfy...go figure.

My gut tells me I didn't handle the lighter weight razor very well, and used pressure. 'Need to grow some stubble and try again...

After a week with the same razor/blade combo, I'm sure you'll be fine.

I started with a 34c and a DE89. As soon as I used an old rocket I sold them both. I get great shaves from my rockets and super speeds. Brilliant razors.

I love my 1940's style (1946-54) Super Speeds!
Once you get familiar with them they deliver a close smooth shave.
I think the models that came later are too mild.

Enjoy it!
