What do you do after you apply Alum? Leave it on and continue with AS or wash it off?
I usually leave it on and apply a balm afterwards.

Thanks for the info. I finally tried an alum stick (RazoRock) and it's been working great for me. It seems to clear up some minor acne that I get in the cheek areas. I also stopped using after shave balm, and that seems to help clear up my skin too, although I miss the moisturizing properties of the balm!! 
Anyone have a suggestion for a moisturizing AS balm that does not contribute to acne?

I like an inexpensive Aloe Vera gel. It's soothing but not greasy.
