If you are just asking what I would buy, then I would say Permasharp Supers or Gillette Silver Blues. There are plenty others that I like, but those two are a step up for me.

If you are asking what you should buy, then I would say a sampler pack.

Excellent advice Dale.

I agree with Marius, I wouldn't buy 100 of any of the ones listed.

I would suggest you create your only sample pack by buying 5 packs of blades that interest you - Phil has a great selection over at BullGoose.

Personna 74s...Biggrin
but back to reality....One of the Iridiums, or Lord Cools.
Personally, I'd split em up...Iridiums, Cools, Silver Blues, Yellow O'clocks,Green O'clocks
vintage Wilkinson Swords, vintage Platinum Plus, vintage Plus Platinums (they ARE different)

I don't know which blades you have tried, nor can I determine what will work for you. Blade preference is such an individual and subjective matter, and it is largely unpredictable.

If I were buying 100 blades from those currently in production, my favorite would be the Personna Med Prep/For Hospital Use blades or the Perma-Sharp Super blades in the cardboard tuck.

From your list, I'd go with Derby or Astra, because they're cheap. I'd use those for a good few months, until I was perfect with them, then buy a sampler to try all the other kinds. I was really surprised with how much better than Derby some of the Gillette blades were for me, but I'm really glad I was able to get my technique down with something consistent before experimenting with the sharper blades.

From your list here Personnas are the only ones that I've bought a hundo of.
I agree you should grab a sample pack to see what you like before you bulk up on a particular brand.

A sampler.

Or Iridiums, Med Prep (hospital use), 7 O'clock yellows, SuperMax Stainless, PermaSharp Super; they're all great blades. But until you know what you like don't buy 100 of anything. Get a sampler or buy them by the pack to try them. Just because I like a blade doesn't mean you will. Lots of factors go into liking a blade.

The nice thing about a sampler is that you can narrow down what qualities you like in a blade. Me? I like sharp and smooth, but you might not.

Bullgooseshaving.com and RazorBladesandMore.com carry both of the blades I named here, as well as many others.

As Brian indicated above, there are a lot of good blades out there that are worth trying. I also really like Treet Dura Sharp blades (carbon steel with PTFE coating), but they aren't as widely popular as the Personna Med Preps and the Perma-Sharp Supers.
