Another major brushmaker (whose name remains confidential at this time) is entering the increasingly popular area of synthetic brushes.

Not to be outdone by recent product releases from others, this brushmaker promises what's being arbitrarily termed 'generation C' fibers ... rich with colorful yet functional strands of high performance engineered polymer hair.

Inspiration for this new line of brushes comes from the famous Troll dolls of the 1990s.
More information forthcoming ...

I've been wondering why to date the fibres in synthetic brushes are dyed to imitate badger when literally any colour is possible.

My mistake! Although popular in the US during the 1990s, these dolls did indeed originate many years earlier ...

'Troll dolls were originally created in 1959 by Danish fisherman and woodcutter Thomas Dam.'

My sister had a collection of these. I really ticked her off when I gave them all flat tops.

Stink! I was hoping this was real. I want someone to really embrace synthetics and offer them in ways that stand out instead of just trying to imitate badger. I think some bright colored synthetic fibres would be a great addition to our niche market.

I agree, Brian.

Synthetics should stand out on their own merits, and not be disguised as 'wannabe' badgers. Why not give them some bold colors in terms of fibers?

I could probably pass on the troll shaped handles though ... Tongue

Yeah, it could get a bit embarrassing as to what I may be groping on a handle profile like that. Laughing1

Ahh, but there is at least one that is advertised as such!!!

It is listed as: Ailunce Professional single make up brush Synthetic Kabuki badger shaving brush makeup brushes big powder brush Bshow H1094A

Now, I don't know how the big powder reacts with the shaving lather but that may be a risk that the shaver must take into account when using it.
