I asked Norm at Pottersong Pottery on Etsy if he would make me a brush scuttle and this is the result. It is a beautiful piece of pottery and the design, color, and functionality is exactly as I wanted. This scuttle gives me warm lather for a two pass shave plus touch-up. I have purchased from Norm in the past so I knew this would be a quality product. Brush scuttle vendors appear to be limited so I went to Norm....glad I did.

Very nice Ed! I'm curious how people work these smaller scuttles? I would bang the b'jesus out of the edges of this thing and probably break a knuckle! Am I missing something?

Dustin,

These little scuttles are used to keep the brush/lather warm between passes. You don't make lather in them. For example, after making lather when face lathering, I'll put the brush in to the scuttle and have warm lather for the next pass. Same for bowl lathering; whip up lather in the bowl and then keep it warm in the brush scuttle. I like this scuttle when I do not want to use one of my larger scuttles.

Would never have thought of that for some reason but it makes perfect sense! Thank you for enlightening me!
