I made a change to my Acadian Spice Bay Rum, the original to be called "Classic" and the new to be called, obviously, "New". (This naming convention for the purposes of testing only)

I intended the change to be a betterment of the Classic. The change was tiny, but to my nose it completely changes the Classic and I'm not at all certain that I like it, that is, that it's worth making the change. I can live with it, but let's face it, other noses are good to have and I only have the one.

I need 10 testers.

The only prerequisites are that you must have on hand some Kramperts Finest Acadian Spice Classic Bay Rum to compare the New to. The second is that you should have the time and inclination to get back to me with what you think of the scent as compared to the Classic. Basically I'll be looking for whether you like it more, the same, or less, and your impressions. That is, what is the difference in the scent? There is no right or wrong, I'm just looking for what your nose picks up. Take your time and use both on your face to test, but get back to me.

Edit: Whoops! CONUS only.

Edit2: One gent contacted me to tell me he was nervous and liked it the way it is. Relax. I hate change more than anyone can possibly know. I've almost never seen change for the better, but that's what I'm trying to do here. Only if it's absolutely clear that the change is for the better will I finalize it. That's why I asked for current users. I absolutely could send out testers of Classic, but that's not what I want. I won't toss satisfied users aside. How many times have we seen a reformulation that was the absolute pits? That's not going to happen here. Trust me, I hate change. It'll result in a better product or it simply won't happen. The change is actually costing me money; it's not being done to save $.

So if you want to be a test subject, get back to me by any means; here in this thread, by PM, whatever. I'll keep the list here, and if you wish to remain anonymous I can do that. When I get to 10 testers it'll close. I'll go by timestamps since PMs are also allowed.

Thanks gents!

I'm guessing the USPS and their rules on shipping alcohol makes you restrict this to CONUS only? Shame, because otherwise I would love to take part.

I got two Bay Rums on hand but not the Kramperts one.
If you get to the point where you need to scrape the barrel for participants I'd be in at that point Smile

I would love to test, but I don't have any Krampert's. I only have Captain's choice and Ogallala bay rums (completely different scents IMHO).

You're in Johnny! I was wondering where you were!

For the gents on the list, if you haven't PMed me an address to send the tester to, please do so. My goal is to get them out on Monday. But I'll inform (via PM) when they ship.

I can't imagine the Original can be improved upon, but this should be interesting.

Macko, thanks. Trust me, I hear you, but I also listen to folks who have criticisms of it. If I can make everyone happy I will, but I won't destroy what I presently make. I like it far too much to do that. We'll see what the testers have to say.

OK, truth be told...

I formulated a product that precisely duplicates what the barber splashed on me many years ago (the New isn't it). I've been using it, and the New is a move slightly toward that. But I needed noses that don't have my eidetic imagery of those times. The product I make exclusively for myself probably isn't different enough from Acadian Spice to be worthy of production space in my home or existence as a 2nd product. Companies don't get smaller than mine and I work out of my home. Space is at a premium.
