I've only tried the cream. To me it smells like flowering nettles (the stinging kind). Definitely different.

Claus, no sir I have not. I make my own pucks by grating the sticks and compressing the shavings into my container. I prefer the scent of the original stick and cream. I don't care much for the scent of the new items.

Thanks Johnny Smile

I didn't care for the scent of the original, so actually threw my tube of Speick cream out Blush

I love the After Shave splash thoug, the scent in that is a different animal than that of the cream, even though they both share the same red and blue logo color.

I have yet to smell the new scent from Speick, but just ordered the after shave splash and the soap in the pot.

Hi Claus...I have both the soap and AS and really enjoy them. I briefly discussed the soap here when I first got it.

I'm a big fan of the new scent, it is very citrusy, but I like a good citrus scent Biggrin. It still has the Speick spicy scent, but it is much more muted in the background, and it works very well with this combination. I find the performance excellent. Yes, I've used better, but this one still comes up in my rotation. I'm also a fan of the AS, which of course is the perfect compliment to this soap Wink. The AS performs just like the original, only the scent is different.

I hope you enjoy them!

Thanks for sharing, Giorgio.

I see they have added this new soap in the tub, but…
Are the stick and the cream still the same formulation and scent? … or have those changed at all?

Thanks

Matt, as far as I know the stick and cream are still the same...nothing has changed in that regard and they are still the "original" formula. The tub is part of their new "Active" line which, to me, is primarily separated by the scent as demonstrated by the AS. However, the Active soap is also a different formula, and does not contain tallow Smile

I have a tub of the Active soap, but haven't gotten around to using it yet. I'll give it a shot tomorrow.

The active shaving soap has kind of an artificial lemony scent. It's performance is top notch though.

Thx. Glad I bought it. It was only €10 - cheap stuff

I used the tub this morning, and was very happy with the results. The lather turned out to be very creamy, and there was plenty for 3 passes + touchups.

The scent as mentioned is a citrus plus some of the old Speick scent underneath. I think I'm one of the few that prefers this new scent.

I think you'll be pleased with this new soap Claus.

+1. I wasn't expecting it, but I do prefer the scent of the Active a little more than the original.

Nice reading, mate.
Something in the original Speick shaving cream scent in the tube turns me off, so I had to to get rid of it.
It's the herbal note in it, I think.
Funny because I like - not love, but like - the scent in the Speick Original After shave splash.

I like the Speick sticks, but I haven't been able to find a suitable holder. I will either grate it or wait until my D.R. Harris stick is empty and stuff a Speick in there. The diameter looks right, and if it's too long it can easily be trimmed. I don't know what words to use to describe the scent, but I like it and I would probably like some of their other offerings too.

It will fit perfectly on the Speick stick deodorant plastic holder. You will need only cutting some mms of the stick if you don't want to work on the base of the holder. Both easy work.

+1 The old Speick sticks are terrific grated and pressed into a tin. That being said I have read good things about their new soap that comes in a pot.
