Seems like he is sticking with the DBC terminology vs DLC. Looks like a lot of interesting designs in the works. The Shavecraft slant has got my attention.

DBC = Dyna Bore Coating. Used to coat the bores of rifles to protect against fouling and corrosion. Will last along time and if this is what Greg is using a razor should last forever.

Greg confirmed that it is DBC (and not DLC).

DBC is a similar type of coating, but it has a hint of silicon.

That does look lovely. I've always liked the look of the iKon Slant head, and it looks better in that coating.

Unfortunately, I also never liked the shave of the iKon Slant. It was just not effective for me. If he is able to make the slant more efficient, then I'd be in the market for one of these. If the head is otherwise the same as the original iKon slant, even this lovely coating will not tempt me to buy it.

I agree with Yohann. The iSlant was the biggest disappointment of my shaving career. Loved the looks but hated the performance, it bit me and I had to say goodbye. Sounds almost like a love story...

Jerry, do you know if he has his other razor heads coated with the DBC?
I, too, did not enjoy the Slant.

I don't want to get too off topic, but just because I'm curious, did you two like the merkur slant? I loved the merkur 37c so sold it and bought the ikon slant and they seem nothing alike from the couple times I've used the ikon slant. I wish I could have just weighted down he 37c somehow.

Yep, I like the Merkur Slant. I have one with a custom handle from Elite Razors, and that's one of my favourite shavers. I also have a Fasan Double Slant that I use a lot.

I prefer my razors to be lighter and more maneuverable.

It is an okay shaver but the head is too big. Probably due to the blade being totally covered by the head.

* No, I neither enjoyed the Merkurs 37C nor the 39C.
