I've plated a number of razors and these are for a client who is a big fan. These originally had Gold plating but they were a bit worn. Especially the Spike which was essentially shot.
The Golden Wedge was in decent shape and just required polishing the blade and plating it.
The Gold on this one covers the shaft, tail and continues across the top of the spine and wraps around the tip.
The scales cleaned up just fine and I used the original wedge and spacers.
The Spike on the other hand was gone. So I took a Spike from my collection and used it as the basis for copying his original. You can see in the photos the length had to be adjusted, the tip reshaped , the shaft thinned down considerably as well as reshaping the tail.
After those minor adjustments I was able to polish the blade and plate it. Here, as on the original, the plating only covers the shaft and tail.
Here too the scales cleaned up just fine.

First 5 shots are the Spike showing my razor in comparison to the original and the work done to it and the last two pics are the Golden Wedge.

And here they are completed.
