I'd acquired quite a few creams and soaps. A few weeks back I decided I had reached the point where too much is too much. I felt cluttered, physically and emotionally, having so many products around begging to be used. And so I had to part with quite an assortments of goodies on BST... and now that it's over, I can just focus on those I love most.
I feel like a kid again. I feel free. I no longer feel the eyes of the unwanted begging me for attention, attention I would rather spend with my better mates.

Here's my dream team:

* Location has no correlation to how I would rank the soaps.
Notice the numbering is
1 2 3 1 2 3
4 5 6 4 5 6
7 8 9 7 8 9
… there are two identical cabinets sitting next to one another.

On top of the cabinets, from left to right:
- Proraso red tube
- Proraso red tub
- Valobra Menthol soft soap
- Boellis Panama 1924 coffret with lid
- Valobra Almond soft soap
- Proraso green tub
- Proraso green tube

In the cabinet on the LEFT:
1 AoS Unscented (new), AoS Unscented (tallow), AoS Lemon (tallow)
2 AoS Lavender (new), AoS Lavender (tallow)
3 AoS Sandalwood (new), AoS Sandalwood (tallow)
4 Valobra Cologne, Fougere, Patchouly, and the stick (2, actually)
5 Czech & Speake No. 88
6 Czech & Speake Oxford & Cambridge
7 Klar Seifen 'Klassic' scent soap (still pending acceptance)
8 Sticks (Wilkinson, Palmolive, La Toja, Speick, Tabac)
9 These I'm testing for acceptance: Tabula Rasa Olibanum, Spencer & Devon Spice, I Coloniali Mango Oil soap (in the AoS bowl), St. James of London Founders Reserve Cedarwood & Clarysage

And, the cabinet on the RIGHT:
1 Castle Forbes Cedarwood & Sandalwood, and Lime
2 AoS creams (Ocean Kelp, Sandalwood, Unscented)
3 XPEC
4 Acqua di Parma tub (new)
5 Acqua di Parma tube and tube (old Colonia)
6 Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet and Endymion creams (though I'm undecided if these are permanent keepers)
7 Santa Maria Novella (new Tobacco Toscano scent)
8 Santa Maria Novella (old) (just received this, but believe it's permanent)
9 Gillette Platinums, Wilkinson Swords, and a few others I basically never use.

Nicely done. Thanks for the photo. I like the look and size of the shelves. Did you build the shelves?

My stockpile is huge, but can't bring myself to purge it. That said, I admire your dedication to that cause, and am very envious of the portfolio. That's some really great stuff you have there.

I have four soaps at a time. Period.

When one runs out, I get another so that I always have four. I have no creams.

I like to keep it simple. I still have choices, just not very many.

It took a while to find something of a proper size and also matched the rustic style I wanted to achieve. But after a bit of looking around I found them online at homedecorators dot com
They are called ARCHIVE WALL SHELF 23.5"Hx7"W NATURAL (Item #: 1769800950)

It is a real shame… glad I could pick up a few. I had a sense of the discontinuation before I was able to confirm it with the distributor and stock went quick. I think I'm going to reach out to her in a week or two, to see how the reformulation project is coming along. She said she would sent me a sample so that I could decide if I wanted to buy it, lol !! Biggrin

Beautiful way to organize it!

I must ask: What do you think of the St. James of London cream? I've recently picked up a jar myself, but it seems to be somewhat unknown (and apparently in the process of being discontinued), so I'm a bit curious as to what others think.

I don't want to judge with any conviction yet because I've only shaved with it once, but it was not a shave/result I want to replicate. I do enjoy the scent, though that means nothing to me if the performance doesn't get better on the next shave.

Missing two essentials:

1.) Milk glass Tabac bowl

2.) Brick of Cella

Otherwise very well done assortment!

I won't argue with you on those points. Touché.

(...even though I do have the Tabac stick, and I do love using sticks these days.)

One of the best ways to organize is to get rid of stuff, and you've done a remarkable job. And what a great dream team! If I didn't have so many soaps I could consider keeping them out in the open on shelves such as yours, instead of hiding them away from my wife.

Thanks Richard, I appreciate it. It seriously feels like there's more air in my home now, haha! Angel
Hiding things can be a good thing, some people might get competitive Biggrin
