My client had a matched pair of MK 32s with faux tortoise shell scales in a presentation box. Beautiful, but for the cracked scale on one of them.
He found another CVH with the matching scales he needed but the blade was cracked. No matter, he only wanted the scales.
He didn't want the cracked blade and left it to me.
So I cut off the end and reshaped it to the original contours. Then I polished the entire blade to a mirror finish.
For scales I happened to have from another project a set of Bakelite scales. Naturally they were too long so I cut them off at the hinge end and reshaped them to look in proportion overall as well as thinned them down a bit. After that I polished them as well. I also got the blade to settle so the spine is parallel to the scales.
I now have a blade that at first glance appears to be a stock CVH with nice proportions. Fun job and nothing went to waste.

Beautiful Job. I have an affinity for salvaged Shorty Razors. I have a shorty Wostenholm Pipe Razor and a shorty Wade and Butcher. Both saved from the scrap heap. I like shaving with them both very much. I have to add neither are of the quality of the above restoration.

Very fine work. Looks like the 6/8 end of the MK32 spectrum. Now if you could turn the toe you clipped off into a handheld miniblade razor.

Thanks everyone.
Lindyhop66,,, I could probably fit it to a Rolls handle and have a trim razor!
