Been DE shaving for about a month have EJ89 and Muhle R41 and seems like I've found something else to spend $ on with DE shavingSmile. Look forward to gaining more insight from what seems to be a great community. I love my R41 but am still looking for maybe an OC that's as efficient but not as aggressive if that makes sense. I can get a two pass BBS with a WTG and then an ATG but it can be a little harsh some days. I've only been using it a couple weeks so we'll see.
Any suggestions on a slightly less aggressive open comb would be greatly appreciated. Im using a thin layer of Noxzema then Proraso green over that. I'm still working on using light pressure which helps but some mornings I go back into my automatic mode which is more pressure like I've done for 30+ years with multiblade gillettes of one type or another.
thanks

Hello and welcome. I'm not an open comb expert, so I'll leave it up to others to advise you.

Maybe a Gillette New or Ikon Open Comb might be more to your liking

Welcome to the Nook from a fellow Tennesseean. I might suggest that you try the FaTip razor. It is OC and more agressive than a regular razor but not as sharp as the R41. Good luck and again welcome.

Welcome to the Nook Biggrin

iKon has a moderately priced razor called the Shavecraft 101, one side is open comb and the other is safety bar. It will be considerably less aggressive than your R41 while still being quite efficient. Good luck Shy
