The wife has gone off to a wedding 600 miles to the south. I'll pick her up at the airport in a few days, or is it next week, or the week after?
So it's just me and the dogs and no cigarette smoke! I'm not even running the air filter and I'm not coughing. Ahhhh! That right there is worth the price of admission!
I did ask her, "But who's going to cook for me?", with an absolutely straight face. OK, that's an inside joke. I do 99.9% of the cooking. Tonight it's beef/egg LoMein with mushrooms and other veggies. I would never add egg and mushrooms if she was partaking. Almost heaven!
Maybe one day I'll take a drive to the coast and get some fried clams before the tourists arrive in full strength.

It was a reference to the "But who will cook for me?", comment I made to the wife.
No, I eat pretty good. I'm no Michelin chef but I certainly don't go hungry and I can cook most anything I wish to. I normally don't do "fancy" cooking, but I am certainly capable.

I took the dogs on a long walk in the forest today. I took along a scoped Contender in .32/20 (hot reloads; 110g varminters @ >2000 fps; not a typical .32/20 load) just in case of porcupines in my conifers. The dogs had a huge run and absolutely loved every minute. Now they're totally zonked.
It's still mud season in the forest and on my wood roads. I can cut trees, but can't move them out yet. I'm not so certain I want my equipment to even go in w/o any load at all right now. The ground is extremely soft. Like sink in 4" deep type of soft and muddy in spots and I didn't seek those areas out.

I guess I do not understand why this has to be. I am a pipe smoker and during the spring, summer, and fall I do it outside. During the cold winter months I have a designated room that I close off with an exhaust fan in the window.
Asthma and allergies are no fun.
