I recently pick-up a tub of this soap and it is hard to describe how good this soap is.

I am currently using TOBS (Avocado, Eton College, Mr. Taylors, Shaving Shop), Proraso (Red/Blue Tube, Red/White Tub), Cyril Salter Rose, Mystic Water Bay Rum, Tabac, 3P, and Mitchells Wool Fat. This soap is equal to any of these soaps. Amazingly thick, slick, comfortable lather that "explodes" off of the brush. Coupled with a great scent, this soap is second to none. I am not sure how they do it, but this soap can be model for others to follow.

Quality: 10/10. Excellent. You gotta try it to believe it. This is one nice soap.

Scent: 10/10. Kind of hard to describe but this is one that that I go back to for a sniff. Woodsy, old time barbershop. Musky. Earthy.

Lather: 10/10. Couldn't believe the first time I used it; lathered instantly. I face lathered and it was shaving bliss. Rich, comforting lather. It feels wonderful on my face. I would say this soap is tailor made for face lathering with the Barbera Classico brushes (Cerda/Mistura/Texugo).

Efficacy: 9/10. It's very slick. When I rinsed between passes I was impressed with how slick my face was.

Moisturizing: 9/10. Nice. My face did not seem to be overly dry after the shave,

Packaging: 9/10. Good packing for shipping; tub is typical screw-off plastic tub.

Would I buy this again? Oh yea… I am looking at the Barbershop version. Gotta be one of the best values going. Highly recommended.

I've been using their soaps for several months now and I haven't found one I don't like yet. They are very good soaps!

Agreed - Baker St is one of my top 10 soaps, as good as anything I've used whether it be performance, scent, or post-shave care.

Nothing performs for me as well as Strop Shoppe, and Baker Street is my favorite scent, although if you ask me tomorrow I might saw Black Tie. They also really nailed it with Alpine Frost, a great scent with just the right amount of menthol.

Baker St is definitely where it's at! To me it resembles TOBS Jermyn St but more refined and FAR better preforming!

Their Barbershoppe w/Tallow has become my favorite soap. I have Tabac, MWF, MdC, Mike's and Panna Crema on hand, but this one beats them all.

I tried this soap early this year and really liked the performance. The customer service left a lot to be desired though - which steered me away from ordering more of the soap. However - the product was solid.

Men's Essentials normally has most soaps in stock.

Vinny,

I have seen posts on customer service; however, this soap was in my mail box in three days after placing the order.

New here, aren't you? Smile

I just sold a bunch of soap, trying to get down to a 15 soap rotation, not having much luck....

Does anyone have the main ingredients of the soap? Are they consistent except for the EOs or FOs?

I'm a fan of SS soaps as well. I've been thinking about which one I want to try next.

Baker St. is a must if you haven't tried it. I'd agree that Black Tie is also excellent. Based on the feedback around here, my next to try is Alpine Frost.

I have certainly considered Baker St. I was going to snag Alpine frost but it went away before I could get it.

Q. Are the labels on the Strop Shoppe soaps waterproof ?
The reviews I've read are very impressive, but it always seems the labels are peeling off or in bad shape. I've only seen some online photo's, so my sample size is quite small. I was just concerned about trying them for the same reason I wouldn't try LASS until John went to waterproof labels and larger containers, now I couldn't be happier with my Topanga Fougere. Any info would be helpful, thanks fellas Shy

The containers at SS are very good but the label is not water proof. (I don't think)

The label is just on the top of the lid of the tubs I have. Usually the top doesn't get too wet and I've had zero problems with them.

Alpine frost is probably my #1 soap!
