Just thought I'd show off some of my collection:

So these first 3 pics are razors in my rotation, honed and ready to go at a minutes notice:

Top to Bottom:

Heljestrand MK134
Hart 7/8 Polished Square Point
15/16 W&B For Barber's Use

Top to Bottom:

Puma Gold #78
Globusmen 134
Toyo #666

Top to bottom:

Heljestrand MK31
Henckel's #50
5/8 Wade And Butcher
Dubl Duck Satinedge
Puma Gold #77
Heljestrand MK 2
Dubl Duck Special #1

This last set is some of the extras. Need to be honed, restored, etc etc

Also, not shown is a 6/8 Le Grelot 1/4 grind that is off for honing, an 8/8 Filly EPBD that needs some new scales, a Filly 15/16 DT, a 6/8 Torrey, and some other miscellaneous razors

Ah, why must you tempt me so... I've been trying to talk my father into letting me "look after" his collection of straights (his fathers, uncles, various other male relatives) but my mother is afraid I'll use them.
.
..
...
Off course I'll use them - that's what they are for Biggrin

Haha, of course!

I must admit, however, that none of these razors belonged to any of my kin. And I would gladly trade them all for the razor my grandfather used many, many years ago.

You're in the military! You use rifles and explosives and things that are more dangerous than a razor!

Does, mom know that? Biggrin

That's too funny! Obviously she's looking out for her "child". Hey, it happens to all of us. Mom remembers when we pooped in our pants and she'll never forget that child.

Nice collection of str8s! Something I'll never have in my hand with the intent to use for shaving.

WOW

All your razors are great, but these first 3 made me drool, specially the Heljie and the W&B.

One day I hope I can have some like thoses.

Congratulations, you must be a very happy shaver.

And just what will be your intent then whe a straight razor is in your hand???

Beautiful straights. I'm not sure I'll ever get to trying out a straight. The time & upkeep on them isn't appealing to me.

All three from the second picture are beautiful! I'm not a straight user (yet) but I always keep my eye out of anything like those three while antique shopping. Owning one might just give me the push needed to try it out. I love the scales and the designs along the spine.

Very nice straights, Nick! i hope to get back to mine when i am done with my DEs and SEs. i started on them too early, in my opinion, so i need to dedicate some more time to them after i have learned to shave with the DEs of my choice.
Enjoy!

Thanks!

I started on a straight, and moved to DEs for a while. But now I've gone almost exclusively back to straights. I find that if I don't have time for a proper straight shave, I'd rather just wait than use a DE. They take time and effort, but the experience and shave quality is worth it in my opinion. Be careful though. Straights can get very expensive very quickly.

Good show, GreekGuy. Yours is a fine collection, indeed. Each appears to have its own distinct personality.
