I was considering a Dorco Pace 3 as a possible travel razor. I am thinking that the 2 or 3 blade would be best. Does anyone use these or have any experience with them? The price is reasonable and I don't want to pay the crazy prices Gillette makes you pay.

I heard Dorco is a decent cartridge razor but no personal experience.

I used the Dorco triple blade razor a few years ago, it delivered a good shave. Personna has launched a new triple blade razor - Caliber 3. I prefer a Mach3 disposable for travel.

Thanks for the info. I will look for those.

I ordered the May "Frugal Dude" pack from the website. It has 3 handles and blades for 2,3,4,and 6 blade cartridges. I will give them a try and do a review.

OK....It has been quite a while since I last posted but I finally got around to trying one of the razors from the "Frugal Dude" pack from Dorco. I tried out their 6 blade disposable razor.

First, the handle is extremely light. Therefore, you have to push it into your face to get it to even make decent contact. The head has a tremendous amount of flex in it and so getting it to cut consistently without putting your fingers on the edges of it to hold it in place was non-existent. The blades are very close together which allows shaving cream and soap both to gum up the works and is VERY difficult to clean out.

Overall, I would not order any 6 blade disposables from Dorco again. They won't work as a daily razor nor as a travel razor in my opinion. I still have to try the 4 blade disposable and the actual cartridge razor, the Pace.

I will let you know as my adventure continues.

Everyone has their preferences when it comes to travel or any other type of razor. The travel razor that works best for me is the BIC Sensitive Razor. Reminds me of a very mild Schick Injector.

I guess I have very different priorities. I like the Dorco 6 blade cartridges a lot and will use them as travel razors for backup (if DE is inconvenient). On the other hand, I despise those BIC disposables and find that they neither cut well nor are smooth enough for a decent shave. I've even been to hotels which give them away and always groan when I see one.

Fortunately, now that I've learned about DE, I can carry my vintage Gillette Tech.

Bic has to be the worst shaving instrument on the market

I usually buy a single blade disposable Bic for air travel, but my best recommendation for multi blade disposable would be a Schick slim twin ST2. There's a little button just above the blades that activates a small lever - it pushes between the two blades to clean out lather and whiskers. VERY important feature.

a few years back my wife bought like 300 disposables. years later she finally finished with them. I now have here with simpsons caffe latte cream, brush and my old catridge. not a bad upgrade.
