Ran across this link on another site (via leisureGuy via wicked_edge). Looks like the thread has been active for several years. If you have one they don't have listed, I'm sure they wouldn't mind if you posted pictures.

You can run this through Google Translate if you don't speak German.

Enjoy

Great find! That Walbusch Adjustable Slant is fantastic, I'd love to get my hands on one of those.

Some really interesting looking razors in there. I realized they wouldn't last as long, but part of me would really like a translucent blue razor....

I don't own a slant and I've never tried one, perhaps its time to remedy the situation...?

They're awesome shavers, mine is the only razor I use. They're very smooth, slicing hairs rather than chopping them. They're aggressive, but you don't even notice it. It's the greatest razor design of all time, IMO.

Any recommendations? I was thinking Merkur 37C, but I do prefer OC...?

Interesting pics!! Thanks for posting that link.

I've seen a bunch of those on other forums. Some of them are pretty rare.

It's interesting to see that a lot of them just angle the head, without twisting the blade (like the modern slants do). That can be reproduced somewhat by using the 'Gillette slide' when shaving with a normal straight.

I keep looking for a super slant, but I haven't been able to locate one.

The 37C will be good to you. I quite like the short and grippy handle. I've been using mine all week after a rather violent feeling shave with my OCMM about a week and a half ago. Loaded with a Voskhod blade I got effortless DFS and occasional BBS. A slant is a must in every shave nook. I can't wait to see Tradere's take on the slant.

The Slant Bar I've acquired is a vintage Pomco, out of Chicago, and probably made by Merkur, as the country of manufacture is Germany. It does have a silver plated handle, but the head is plated in either chrome or nickle. It sure shaves like a dream. Here's a few pics:

I've been chasing a Hoffritz for quite some time. Every time I find one, it's out of reach.

I have 3 slants.
A completely boxed and cased Hoffritz, chrome box, 2 blade holders, unfortunately with the crack in the handle. Seems a very common problem. Doesn't affect shave though.
A 37G Merkur. Gold is good.Biggrin
Finally a Brumml Sausalito, CA on that is slightly different in casting head wise. I prefer this one. It's gold too, and with a funky leather pouch.

I've never been a fan of open combs, only a few don't feel like they're raking my face. I only hope the combs have smooth edges. If not, I'll take a file and Dremel to them. LOL

Your Slants look great. I really like your Hoffritz: the whole set up the chrome case w/ blue liner, razor, and blade holders looks great together. I have never heard of the Brumml Sausalito, CA Slant razor? Is it a rebranded Mekur? Gold is always nice.
