I'm puzzled by a recent order I placed with Stroppe Shoppe. I'm a big lover of their tallow soaps and have 2 in use and 4 in my stock to give you an idea.
When the Date Night soap came up on their site I ordered a tub as the scent description appealed to me.
On April 3rd I placed the order, on April 12th I sent a message to Stroppe Shoppe to see if they had a tracking number for the parcel as it was showing dispatched on April 7th. A reply on April 13th with the tracking number, on checking it said it was on it's way from Norman OK. On April 10th it was processed Chicago. I expected the parcel to leave there for the UK.
April 25th I sent a message to Stroppe Shoppe to see if they had any more to add where the parcel was.
A reply from Stroppe Shoppe on April 29th saying to check with the Royal Mail in the UK, nothing showing on Royal Mail system.
On May 3rd I raised a dispute through Paypal saying the parcel must be lost. May 4th money refunded. May 5th parcel arrived unit Norman OK and then delivered Norman OK same day.
What went on here ? the parcel never left the US by the looks of it Doubt

Maybe the customs form was incorrect and they sent it back.

I have a follow up to this tale..
Last night I had an email from Stroppe Shoppe my soap was indeed returned to them. Address incomplete he said, the 'local' post office couldn't find me.
I'm in the United Kingdom soap addressed to United Arab Emirates I've had several soaps previous to this correctly addressed.
Jason asked if I'd like the order re processing. I'm keen to try the Date Night soap so yes.
Hopefully a happy ending to this tale...

Well, at least the mystery is solved and the outcome worked out for all. They got the soap back and you got your money back.

Many years ago when we lived in Dallas, we flew from Dallas to San Antonio, about a 1-hour flight. When we arrived we had no luggage. Months later we found out that our luggage went to São Paulo, Brazil instead of San Antonio, TX. We never did get our luggage back and received pennies on the dollar for it.

As a matter of fact I did. A Schick G1, puck of Old Spice Soap, Old Spice After Shave, and a no name brush.

Too bad about the injector, but good thing they are still plentiful! Biggrin

Not to sidetrack this, but what is the deal with a vendor naming themselves "The Strop Shoppe" (that is the spelling on the site) and it turns out to be a shoppe which does not sell strops??? I went there hoping they may make some cool custom strops ...... Nope, just soap. Huh

Not to rail on Strop Shoppe, but I ordered some soaps (shipped to Canada) and it took them over 2 months to send me my soap, and when I received my package it was incomplete. I had to keep badgering them into giving me an update as to why my soaps were taking too long.

I love their soaps but with so many artisan soapmakers in the market they really need to work on their communication and customer service.

Original parcel of Date Night soap arrived yesterday (June 10th) after being re labelled and sent out a second time to my correct address.
No message or apology for the delay or anything like that.
I do love the Stroppe Shoppe soaps and probably will buy more at some time but I have enough for now.
