Yes Gents, they are Jewel-like in quality. Not fragile ...just exactly as I dreamed. Sorry to sound so gloating..I really don't mean for it to come away as that..Thankful and so pleased rather.

This section is meant to show off your items. Simply stunning scales, I'd love to find a set like those some day. I do not think you are coming off as gloating, just as someone who is very pleased with their purchase, and if you can go from 600 razors to a pair of daily drivers, more power to you.

Soon to be down to just this pair in my den (also my Great Great Grandfather's W&B that doesn't see any use but is an heirloom).... I have not found personally better shavers and they are in fact my "Holy Grail" set so I figured, WHY look beyond that??????? I am a committed Minimalist at heart and a recent flurry of razor activity did nothing to satisfy. Thus, I remain quite pleased with "rotating" between the two until I can no longer use a straight razor...which I suspect is a good 25 years ahead. Cheers!

Minimalist,
I just came across this thread and apologize for the late response.
That is a lovely set, indeed, and those razors are highly coveted. Good show for acquiring them. And you're right, if these are your ideal razors, why amass a big razor collection?

So the western Japanese are gone as well?

All but one and it is out for sale .... I just truly enjoy the MK 31's and I cannot find better shavers!

Thank you Obie! I agree...I love the Luxury Minimalism of just using them.

I sold off my original pair a couple of years ago and even quit straights all together after over a decade of daily shaving with over 800 that passed through my many residences. Just yesterday I acquired a different pair along with a John Weiss Ivory set. I will post better pics in the coming days perhaps. [Image: 18Q1tN5.jpg]

Thanks Gentlemen. I’ve only 3 solid pairs now. The Heljestrand tortoise, the Weiss ivory, and Dovo Pearlex and Ebony 5/8 in a Dovo leather pair case. Also one stray Heljestrand. More than enough to enjoy.

Wow. I'm not even a straight shaver but I would start and do it every day if I had those in my Den. Very nice.

Beautiful razors......I know what you mean by finding your HG.  Mine are J A Henckels in 6/8 with no particular model.  I think the stainless (inox) razors are some of the best I have ever placed against my face and retain their edge better than any.
