Beautiful loft and shape. I have placed it next to a more recent version X1 to indicate the shape differences. There's no doubt about the Somersets IMO. Very soft tips. I have never seen another one of these.

Beautiful butterscotch color, great looking brush... I can see the shape changes from the old one to the new one; I think its the main body on the new x1 seems to have the main body of the handle tapered in compared to the older x3.

That is a beautiful brush with a knot in very good shape. It is hard to beat vintage Simpson Best in terms of overall performance and feel.

I've seen lots of butterscotch Commodores, but most were re-branded for other companies, mine is a Marshall Field. Unfortunately mine suffered from male pattern baldness and needed a hair transplant.
