Hey folks,

I really want to try a Muhle 25mm synthetic knot - either in a brush or separate - STF v2 with the preferable specs of 25 x 55. If you have one that you're interested in selling, let me know. Thanks!

Bryan

I just bought a 21mm from Dustin last week, it's a lather monster, really caught me off guard in a good way...

Yah the Simpson Chubby 2 would be incredible if the dimensions weren't so screwy. The Plisson I have is nice but not as soft as the Chubby was.

Really want to try one out.

I've had the 25mm as well and it's an amazing brush too! Just haven't really gotten into the synthetics. Always bothered me how they didn't suck up water for some reason. You won't be disappointed though in it's performance. The 25mm is a great face latherer!

What loft do you suggest? The standard Muhle 62-63 or 55 used in customs?

It depends on your style. Face Latherer? Go shorter. Bowl and face? I'd go with the taller. They have nice splay so you won't be upset either way but if you're solely a face latherer I'd go with the 55.

Bryan,

My V2 is set at 57 mm and is a great setting for face and bowl lathering. The lofts were shortened a bit standard when Mühle change from V1 to V2 but I still see 62 mm from the vendors. My V1 in the same knot size is 64 mm. You might want to contact Mühle via email to see what they can do to get you a shorter loft setting.

Contact Rudy Vey who often stocks the Muhle knots and have him make a custom handle with the desired loft setting for the knot. The one I have from him has the 55 mm loft height and it's perfect, a brush I really enjoy using.
