As outlined in the "First poor vendor experience" thread I ordered 4 Ohto pens from Jetpens.com and ink samples from Gouletpens.com

This first pic of ML diligently trying and recording the ink samples the day they arrived.

These are the pens. One in each available color.
Black - daughter's young man
Silver - daughter
Blue - ML
Purple - Phil

Posted. They only come in a fine stainless steel nib.

They are very nice pens. they are brass bodies with a colored coating. The body is hexagonal so it will not roll away. The grip is a black plastic. They are nice looking and feeling pens. It is comfortable in the hand both posted and not posted. The nib writes smooth. All 4 of us like the pen.

Last pic is the DUDE party. Our daughter, her young man and I all trying various inks. ML was involved but is the photographer (You can see her reflection in the windowSmile ).
We all had fun comparing colors and properties.

ML and I are new fans of Noodlers. The samples we had all flowed well, had no feathering nor blled through and for us lefties -dried instantly.

That just looks like a lot of fun, Phil.

How wet does the Dude write with the fine nib?

It writes great. The line is not wet but thicker than I expected for a Japanese pen. I ink it with Pilot Azalea. No problems at at all with left handed writing. It writes smoothly with a faint bit of feedback.

ML is much more particular about smoothness than I. She does not like any scratchiness at all. She likes the way this pen writes.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the review, Phil. I've been considering a Dude in purple.(bet you couldn't have guessed what color) Now I'm going to have to add it to my buying list. Finding a fine nib pen that isn't scratchy is a challenge, especially in the lower priced range. I'm with ML there. I dislike any scratchy scritchy nibs.
