I purchased this brush on the BST a little while back, some of you may recognize it. I received it in the mail and started putting it through its paces. I was cleaning off the rim of the handle at one point and noticed something.....
Dun dun dun! A crack!

Where did that come from?!?!? At this point it didn't matter. It was there and now what do I do with it? Enter the maker of the brush... Geoff Anderson! I contacted him and he was very quick to get back to me. He threw some ideas around and eventually I ended up sending it to him. Who knew he lived within an hour of me!
He said if this was his brush, which it sort of was, the crack could probably be fixed but would always bother him. I agreed and the best option was to bust open the handle and try to save the amazing WSP Silvertip knot.

I had two options for new knot. I threw around the idea of the cylinder but eventually decided on the concave. Geoff planted the knot into the knew handle and I present my resurrected brush!

I love it! While I loved the other handle too it just couldn't be saved and this is how it ended up. This all happened within a week mind you! Here she is in the box headed back to me. I can't wait to use her again and put her in her rightful place next to her cousin the Americana! Geoff is an amazing artist and a great person. I can't thank him enough!

Geoff is a true artist and gentleman. He chatted with more for quite a while and didn't get annoyed with me at all. He is very excited about his craft and it shows. He really does put love into all his brushes and pretty much anything he does!

Is there a line at the top of the handle?
I saw that tok and asked. This is what he said:
Nope. No crack. That is a wave in the resin. Very common for zebra stripe, especially towards the inside of the blank. If it were a larger diameter, it might not have that. All of my personal zebra brushes have that.

Thanks, I do like it more too! Geoff is a great guy... really goes above and beyond. I talk to him frequently now. Watch out for him in the future!
