According to some shaving forums and social media sites, Bayolea, the modern-day reformulation of a classic Bay Rhum scent from Penhaligon's fragrance archive, previously only made for the Duke of Edinburgh, is scheduled for public release this August. Apparently there will be quite a range of products in the line, including shaving soap and aftershave lotion and splash.

The description from Penhaligon's:
Head notes: Lemongrass, Mandarin, Tangerine
Heart notes: Cardamom, Black Pepper, Neroli, Lavender
Bass notes: Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Musk, Moss, Patchouli, Amber

Interesting....no bay (pimienta racemosa)...I love pens, but not a fan of traditional bay. Could be something to try, or at least sample...

Yes, I don't really understand the lack of a bay rum ingredient in a "reformulation of a classic Bay Rhum scent."

I don't know the answer to that question. But I would guess that the usual Penhaligon's dealers, such as Bullgoose Shaving, will be offering the products.

I found a picture of the shaving cream online.

The blog post in the link above mentions a shaving cream and aftershave splash, but no shaving soap.

I was in Pen's Edinburgh store earlier in the year and I was told from the sales assistant that they were planning a range of 15 products to be released this summer based on the Bay Rum scent, although with Pen's releases that is always subject to change. So I promptly signed up to the mailing list and eagerly await it's arrival, if not only to find out which 15 products they might release. I only got to 9 or 10 before running out of ideas.

I looked at the Penhaligon site. The Bayolea shows on the UK side but not on the USA side of the site.

By the by, in case anyone wondered, the name is pronounced with the accent on the second syllable, Bay-OH-lee-uh.
