I'm mainly a soap guy in more ways than the obvious ones. I can make a decision on what soap to buy in two beats of a hummingbirds wings, but get all wish washy, that one, no that one, over creams. So as a favor what are your choices for the 5 best creams under $40.
Thank you, I appreciate it.

Hiya,

Yep, Castle Forbes is tops at that price point. Penhaligons (very good) is also in that range. What I also found good enough to include with my almost all soaps rotation would be the J. Peterman 1903 shaving cream. It's just a little better than most creams.....performs more like a soap. Great classy scent as a bonus.

Nice for a change of pace,

Martin

I'll add my vote for Castle Forbes... The scent and performance of the Lavender make it my top cream.

I seem to have missed a few. Ooooops.
My 5 creams under $40:
Art of Shaving
Castle Forbes
Floris
Penhaligon's
Acqua di Parma in tube... of which I have a ton of, but am selling a couple on BST, if interested)... At a steal, I might add.

I'm also looking forward to using these which just came in, they seem pretty promising in test lathers:
Esbjerg grapefruit
Alvarez Gomez
BAUME.BE

I left CF out of my list because it's near enough to $40 that I mentally just round up. Smile But yes, it's an excellent product.

I always want to try this cream. In fact, after you left the link I told my self I was buying one until I started reading scent descriptions again. I've never heard anyone so bad at scent descriptions. For example....

Calypso can be described as cool, refreshing, bracing. There is also a warm, friendly, honest feel to this fragrance and one that is extremely natural. On top of this, there is also, strangely, a shadowy, deep, mysterious, spicy quality. The scent itself may be relatively simple but its impression is complex
