I check the Classic Shaving website on a regular basis and was shocked today to see the price of the Cobra (still not in stock) jumped from $169 to $199. This is getting ridiculous.

For that price making it out of stainless steel would be justified.

Sounds logical Johnny but I doubt that will happen.

I'm more surprised that it hasn't happened before now. If others are selling their's second hand at that price why wouldn't Classic Shaving capitialise on the Cobra's popularity?

Maybe this version will be gold or rhodium-plated?

Just noticed the price change as well. I'm sure pulling for the HuntLee project to bring another option to market.

Hooray for Phil! He has great products and is a genuinely nice fella. He sold us those Vintage Penhaligon's shave pucks for a rock bottom price...some were selling similar items on eBay for alot more...

As vendors go, Phil has given us more variation and better shave products than just about any other. Just think of those limited run 2-band brushes...yep, he's got my vote!

The price increase, if not an error, is indeed unfortunate as I was planning on picking up another "just in case" and maybe get one replated since I have been inspired by Ben and others who have done that (thanks guys!) ...

I was hoping the $199 is the price that the Cobra 2 would be, and that perhaps the price of the classic would even decrease since the star would now be the 2. Maybe production costs jumped up or maybe they're trying to make up for some R&D costs of the 2...Then again, what do I know Tongue

... And +2 for Phil!

Yes there is a price increase due to escalating manufacturing costs. The Cobra Classic is only produced in small batches, but the good news is that more are due next month...

shhhhh! Don't tell people that until after I secure one. I AM rather disappointed about the price increase though, especially with talk about the mold getting old and such. I sure hope, if I can get one, it comes with zero imperfections at that cost.

Mine was ordered after that talk was started. It arrived without a blemish on it. Cool

You are assuming that but I think its greed. Classic knows they have a good thing and a lot of guys are chomping at the bit to buy one.

I wasn't assuming Jerry, I was told.

I do agree that CS have a good thing and IMO that's why they struggle to meet demand.

In the last 6 years the Cobra has risen approx 56% which is outrageous. No Cobra for me, I will just wait patiently for a Huntlee.
